About the Co-Founders/Owners - Alexandra (Ali) Terista & Renee Gannon
Renee Gannon and Alexandra Terista met over 10 years ago when they joined the Women's Rugby team at the University of New Hampshire where they were both attending school for undergraduate degrees. Renee and Ali became fast friends and soon learned that they grew up less than 10 minutes apart - Renee in Beverly and Ali in Danvers. As their friendship blossomed, they also learned that they were both studying biology and they both loved to paint and create art as a passion.
After they graduated from the UNH in 2004, Ali enlisted in the Navy and Renee went on to explore various career paths, first in Zoology and eventually in Marketing & Design. Ali earned her commission as a Surface Warfare Officer which took her all around the world. She has been stationed on three different ships and completed two deployments. In the meantime, Renee spent a few years in Los Angeles, working for a start-up where she learned new business operations and gained valuable experience in marketing, branding and design. Despite many years of being geographically separated, the two friends always managed to stay in touch and reconnect whenever possible.
Last year, Ali relocated back to the North Shore where she entered into the Navy Reserves. The two college friends discovered the "paint and sip" concept absolutely loved it. They agreed that it was such a fun idea they decided to take the plunge into a new business venture and bring the concept to the North Shore, thus Wicked Art Bar was born. The two co-founders love the artsy vibe that is happening in and around downtown Beverly and felt this would be the perfect location for an art bar. They are very excited to turn their passion into a fun and exciting new business for the North Shore.
